Admission Guidelines

Recovering from any type of addiction or mental illness is a huge step and acknowledging one’s problem is a commendable thing to do. We at Sunrise Recovery Care understand the need for the patient and how sensitive a situation like this can be to a patient. We, therefore focus on making the whole process of admission and understanding of the program easier for the patients.

Sunrise Recovery Care’s Admission procedure is made as simple as possible for the patients.

Assessment

The first step towards admitting oneself or their near and dear ones to the rehabilitation program is the assessment of the patient. The assessment process can be done on a telephone call or in-person to learn about the patient’s history and physical and mental health situation. It is basically about providing the needed information to the professionals so that pre-diagnosis assessment can be done of the patients.

Admission

The next step after the completion of the assessment and verification is the admission. When admitting a patient to the center, there should be some company with the patients. A family member or friend accompanying them for the first time can be helpful for the patient as there is paperwork involved and protocols that need to be followed. So, a company will not only motivate the patient to take the new journey but will also help avoid stress with all the pre-work that needs to be done.

Introduction to Sunrise Recovery

Once the patient is formally admitted to our addiction treatment center, the next step is followed by the introduction to Sunrise Recovery so that they get to know and understand the place they would be living in, the treatment process that will follow, and the therapies they would be enrolling into. It is basically like an orientation program that will give a glimpse of the addiction center.

Treatment

Once all this has been done, the crucial step that is carried out is the treatment of the patients. The treatment is based on the plan that has been developed following the situation of the patients. Therapies and treatments are introduced to the patients.

Discharge

Finally, when the patients have recovered from the addiction or mental illness, they are discharged and aftercare services are provided to the patients. Helpful guidance and support systems are introduced to the patients to help them lead a healthier and happier life.

📞 Phone Access During Treatment

We understand the importance of staying connected to loved ones. While personal device use is restricted, clients will be provided with structured phone access:

  • 📅 Within the first 7 days, each client will receive one “needs” call to take care of any essential matters (family, job, court, etc.).
  • 📞 After the first week, clients will receive no fewer than 3 phone calls per week on designated call days.
  • 📆 Phone call schedules are determined by the program and will be communicated upon admission.

💡 Why this policy exists:
Limiting phone and device access reduces outside distractions, encourages full engagement in treatment, and fosters emotional and mental clarity.

  • Vapes, e-cigarettes, and other nicotine devices are not allowed.

Yes — we provide care for individuals with co-occurring disorders, also called dual diagnosis. This means we are equipped to treat both substance use disorders and mental health conditions at the same time.

Our program supports clients with:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • PTSD or trauma-related symptoms
  • Bipolar disorder
  • ADHD
  • Grief and loss
  • Other emotional or behavioral challenges

🧑‍⚕️ How We Treat Co-Occurring Disorders:

  • Clinical assessments by trained staff at admission
  • Individual and group therapy with licensed professionals
  • Medication management when appropriate
  • Trauma-informed care and relapse prevention
  • A recovery plan tailored to both mental health and substance use needs

Yes — we do accept couples into treatment. However, we do not allow couples to stay in the same building during their time in the program.

Here’s What That Means:

  • We have separate facilities for men and women. Each partner will be admitted to the appropriate location based on gender.
  • While both partners can receive treatment at the same time, they will have separate housing, therapy groups, and daily schedules.
  • This structure allows each person to focus fully on their own recovery while still receiving support from our clinical team.
  • Limited contact between partners may be permitted based on clinical approval.

Why this works:
Treating couples separately helps reduce distractions and codependency, allowing each individual to heal, grow, and build a foundation for long-term recovery.

Yes — we do accept pregnant women into our treatment program, depending on the stage of pregnancy and medical needs.

Here’s What You Should Know:

  • Admission is evaluated on a case-by-case basis to ensure we can safely and effectively meet both the client’s and baby’s needs.
  • We work closely with outside prenatal providers to support regular OB care while in treatment.
  • Our team is trained to provide a safe, supportive, and trauma-informed environment for expectant mothers.
  • Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) options may be available when clinically appropriate.

🩺 Your safety comes first.
If a higher level of medical care is needed, we’ll help coordinate a referral to a facility that can best support you and your baby.
